Venus turned retrograde this week and will remain so until the middle of November.
The planet has not physically changed direction. It only appears to move backward because of the changing positions of Venus and Earth. Astrology treats this period as a time to review what we value, what we desire, and the relationships that receive our energy.
That makes this a useful moment to look beyond our stated values and notice where our life force is actually going.
We tend to think of values as beliefs.
We value love, meaningful work, spiritual practice, health, or service. These words describe what matters to us, but they do not always describe the way our energy moves through an ordinary day.
Attention shows us more.
Notice what receives your clearest hours. Consider which commitments stay with you long after they are complete. Pay attention to the responsibilities that leave you feeling quietly resentful or scattered.
These patterns reveal the direction your life force has been taking, including directions you may never have chosen consciously.
In LifeForce Energy Healing®, the Hara line is the vertical current of intention that gives life force direction. Intention, in this sense, reaches deeper than preference. It organizes the way we meet our lives.
When our choices reflect that deeper intention, we often feel a sense of inner continuity. The day may still be demanding, but we recognize ourselves inside it.
When the direction is less clear, we can feel divided. One part of us continues fulfilling an agreement while another has already begun to withdraw.

Consider a person who values service and has become the one everyone calls for help.
She may care deeply about the people who rely on her. She may also carry an older agreement that says being good means remaining available.
From the outside, both impulses look generous. Internally, they have different qualities.
Conscious service allows choice. The older agreement creates pressure before a request has even been made.
The body may register that difference first. Her breathing changes when the phone rings. Her shoulders tighten as she agrees to something. Later, she wonders why an act of kindness has left her depleted.
The value of service is still real. What needs attention is the unconscious agreement directing how she lives it.
This is the kind of distinction a period of review can bring into view.
Venus is traditionally associated with attraction and desire. We usually notice desire when it moves toward something new.
There is another side to it.
A desire that once organized an important part of life may begin to lose its force. We keep pursuing it because it has become part of our identity, even as the energy behind it grows quieter.
This can happen with work, a relationship, or an image of the future we have carried for years.
The change may arrive gradually. We find ourselves postponing what we once pursued eagerly. Achieving the next milestone feels strangely flat. The body no longer gathers around the goal in the same way.
Before abandoning the goal or forcing ourselves to recommit, we can listen.
The fading energy may be temporary fatigue. It may also be information. Time and honest attention help us tell the difference.
A values review does not need to cover your entire life.
Choose one recurring commitment that has begun to feel heavy or automatic. Notice what happens in your body before you enter it and how you feel afterward.
Then bring your attention to the intention beneath it.
You may discover that the commitment still matters, but the way you carry it needs to change. A responsibility may need a clearer boundary. Something neglected may deserve an actual place on the calendar instead of whatever time remains.
The aim is greater honesty about the direction of your energy.
For the next week, stay with one question:
Does this choice give my life force a clear direction, or does it divide me from what I know matters?
There is no need to manufacture an immediate answer. Watch the pattern as it repeats. Let your body contribute information alongside the mind.
Venus will continue its retrograde passage for several more weeks. That gives us time to observe before making declarations.
Begin with one commitment. Notice where your energy gathers, where it contracts, and whether the life you are organizing still reflects what you value now.
The direction of your life force becomes clearer through attention. It becomes steadier through practice.
